Instructions to configure the Sig Cap Model T-LBK462-HSB-R for on-premise workstations and NOT connecting to System Five on Cloud.

On-Premises Installation 

Do not use the new Virtual Serial via USB Driver.  That driver should only be used in a Cloud or RDP environment.

You need to install 2 drivers.

 https://www.topazsystems.com/sdks/sigpluspro-activex.html then extract and install the 32 bit

https://www.topazsystems.com/software/sigplus44024.zip extract then run the sigplus.exe


Click Next 


Click Next 


Leave the default Destination Folder and just click Next 


Select the radial next to T-L and click OK 


Select the radial next to T-LBK462 or T-L462 and click OK 


Select the radial next to HSB (USB type) and click OK.  


Review the license agreement and Agree to continue. 


And YES we want a shortcut on the desktop. 


Click Finish to complete the installation. 



This is the testing program for the Sig Cap Devices. Double-click on it to open the demo. 


Click the Start Button and test by signing on the Topaz T-LBK462-HSB-R .

You should see your signature appear in the signature box.

If you do, click the Stop button and click the OK button to close the DemoOCX program.

If it is working in the DemoOCX program you can now open System Five to finish setting up the device, forms and invoice tree. 

System Five Setup

Sign into System Five.

Step 1) Open the Setup Wizard

Step 2) Select Point of Sale Devices

Step 3) Select Signature Capture

Step 4) From the drop down list, select the Topaz SugnatureGem 1x5 LCD (Non Legal)

Step 5) Use Sig Capture for Credit Cards

Check this option if you want to electronically sign a credit card receipt. You must ensure that your merchant agreement allows electronic signatures in the event of a charge back. The electronic signature is not transmitted to the credit card processor.  

Step 6) Allow viewing of Signature on stations without signature capture devices

Check this option to allow back office and other stations to view signatures without having a signature device installed.

If you are doing this, you may need to install the device drivers on the other machines even though they do not have a device attached. System Five uses some of the driver files to display the signature in the System Five program. 


Setting up the Full size invoice forms to include signature

Step 1) Drag Signature Capture icon to Full size form 

Step 2) Drag Laser printer to Signature Capture, (If you want two copies drag another printer over). 

 Make sure that the printer assigned to the Sig Cap device in the invoice tree isn't a redirected printer. If you select a redirected printer, the signature capture screen won't pop up. (this has to happen on every invoice form that has the SigCap attached to it.  


You must also set up the invoice form to include the Signature field. Usually you would drag that to the Totals area of the invoice form. This field must be there on the invoice form or the signature won't be collected.

Open an invoice and test.


  • If the T-LBK462-HSB-R  works in the DemoOcx program, but doesn't work in System Five, or System Five locks up when you print an invoice:
  • You need to check the Windows device manager and look for the HSB to COM driver under Ports (COM & LPT).
  • If it exists you need to right click on it and select Uninstall Device. If asked to delete the driver, click yes. It must be removed completely from Windows.
