In some cases you will not be able to do the standard configuration steps of powering off the printer, press and hold the feed button, power on the printer, and release the feed button when it begins to flash. It appears that Zebra has released some TLP-2844 printers that cannot be calibrated in this manner. For those printers there is an alternate method of calibrating the printer.

Edit

Auto Calibrate

So following the steps in the image below. You will turn the printer on, then press and hold the feed button and it will begin to flash green. IT will flash a number of sequences. You will see it flash 1 time and a pause, 2 times and a pause, 3 times and a pause, then when it flashes 4 times, release the feed button, and the printer should reset to the factory defaults, calibrate itself, and saves the information to it's internal memory.

Edit

Calibrate The Label Width

In some cases I have also had to calibrate the label width after performing the steps to Auto Calibrate. This is achieved using the steps above, however you must wait for the feed button to flash 5 times.

So turn the printer on, then press and hold the feed button and it will begin to flash green. IT will flash a number of sequences. You will see it flash 1 time and a pause, 2 times and a pause, 3 times and a pause, 4 times and a pause, then when it flashes 5 times, release the feed button.

The printer will begin to print a series of rectangles across the label. When it reaches the outer edges of the label, press and release the feed button 1 time, and it will save the configuration.
