Forcing the Microsoft Generic Text Driver to Cut

This can be helpful when:

you need to use a generic text driver for Terminal Services.

Or if you have several slip printers of different brands or models, and want to use the same driver for all of them.

The Microsoft Generic Text Driver that comes with Windows doesn't directly support the ability to cut the slip. However it does have the ability to send commands to the printer if you know what codes are needed. This means that if you know how to program these codes, you can force the printer driver to do most of the things the manufacturer's driver can do.

The following codes should work for these printers

  • Epson TM-T88V
  • Epson TM-T200II
  • POS-X Ion
  • Star TSP100

It appears that:

<1D> is the code for the cutter in the printer

V is a space command (space bar on keyboard)

and <00> is the command for full cut
