A lower DPI setting in Windows will make screen elements like icons, fonts, and other Windows elements appear smaller, and a higher DPI setting will make them appear Larger. By default, Windows has a system-wide scaling setting of 96 DPI.

This is one way to change the Windows 10 DPI settings to the level of scaling  you want.


  1. Right-click an empty area on your desktop, and then select Display settings from the context menu.Graphical user interface, application

  2. The Settings app will open to the Display tab. In the right pane, scroll down and under Scale and Layout, click on the drop-down menu under “Change the size of text, apps, and other items” and select the DPI percentage you want for your display. This is normally 100%.

  3. Once you set the DPI size you want, you will need to close the display settings window then sign out of Windows and sign in again to see the DPI changes
