Delete Inventory Routine - Import from File

The concept was the user could vie a list of parts in the Inventory Report Designer, export them to a file, adjust the file as necessary, and then import the file into the Delete Inventory Routine and delete the uploaded items. The feature currently supports text-files only.

When importing items from a text file there needs to be a column with “UNIQUE” in the title. Optionally, there can also be a column called “DELETE”

Requirement for the import

  1. as stated above, column UNIQUE must be present
  2. also, the file must be a “TEXT”.

Steps

  1. run DESIGN INVENTORY REPORT with columns UNIQUE, CATEGORY & PARTNO
  2. export into an Excel File or Spreadsheet
  3. Clean up the file for unwanted lines like the TOTAL at the very bottom of the report, etc.
  4. Highlight everything “COLUMNS & ROWS”
  5. Set everything to TEXT, see sample below.
