Overview
Windows Desktop Client software version 1.2.6186 is causing customers to not connect to their System Five on Cloud. This release resolves a remote exploit vulnerability CVE-2025-27487. You have three options to remediate this experience.
- RECOMMENDED: You can upgrade to the next version 1.2.6187. This can be done from the Microsoft download link and choose Public Release. Note that at the time of this article, the text on the webpage still showed 1.2.6186, but clicking the download link downloaded 1.2.6187.
- You can disable UDP in the Remote Desktop client, which may have performance implications in some networks.
- Or you can downgrade and choose a previous version that does not have the issue
How to check your remote desktop version
- Click on the "Remote Desktop" icon.
- Click on the ... and choose "About" menu.
- Review the version information shown.
Downgrade and choose a previous version
- Uninstall Remote Desktop from "Add or remove programs" in your Start menu.
- This step may require your local IT department
- Download an installer.
- A known issue causing no connection with version 1.2.6186 requires the downgrade to 1.2.6074.
- Download 1.2.6074 for 64 bit
- Other Remote Desktop installers can be found by clicking the ... and choose the "What's new" menu.
