As a security best practice, System Five on Cloud passwords expire every 90 days. 

This article discusses 2 different scenarios, please check and follow which steps apply to you

Messages that required this solution

  • If you receive this dialog when signing in: “This user account's password has expired. The password must change to log on. Please update the password or contact your system administrator or technical support.” Follow 'already expired' steps
  • If you receive this dialog that states: “You must change your password before logging on the first time. Please update your password or contact your system administrator or technical support.” Follow 'about to expire' steps.
  • If you receive an error dialog with the code: 0x1207, try a different password
  • Try a different password if you are receiving the error "You must change your password before logging on the first time."

For TENANT ADMINISTRATORS: In order to receive another user's password reset, your administrator account password must not be expired. 

Our password policy is:

  • 1 capital
  • 1 number
  • 8 character min
  • no part of your username may appear in your password

Do not reuse your old/expired password, always create a new password. Click here to guide you in creating a strong password


  1. Follow this link in the INCOGNITO window. It is important to open the link in incognito so it will not carry over any account.
  2. Ensure that you are logged on with your cloud username with” for NA” for AU

  3. And your current password
  4. On the next page, you will be able to update your current password


Launch Remote Desktop, see diagram below 
  1. Click on the three dots “…” to the right of the S5oC subscription.
  2. Choose Unsubscribe
  3. Click the “Continue” button to answer “Are you sure you want to unsubscribe?”
  4. Close or Exit Remote Desktop client first.
  5. Open Remote Desktop client again and the environment should refresh and you will be presented with the “Subscribe” button.
  6. Make sure to click on "Use Another Account" then enter your cloud login
  7. Log in using your expired password
  8. Once successful, you should be prompted to create a new password
