As a security best practice, System Five on Cloud passwords expire every 90 days. 


The message that required this solution

If you receive this dialog that states: “You must change your password before logging on the first time. Please update your password or contact your system administrator or technical support.


  • If you receive an error dialog with the code: 0x1207, try a different password
  • Try a different password if you are receiving the error "You must change your password before logging on the first time."


For TENANT ADMINISTRATORS: In order to receive another user's password reset, your administrator account password must not be expired. 


Our password policy is:

  • 1 capital
  • 1 number
  • 8 character min
  • no part of your username may appear in your password


Do not reuse your old/expired password, always create a new password. See this video to guide you in creating a strong password 


STEPS:


  1. Follow this link in the INCOGNITO window or InPrivate window.. 
    It is important to open the link in Incognito or InPrivate so it will not carry over any cached accounts.
    To open an Incognito window in Google Chrome, right click on the browser icon and choose New Incognito window.

    Or to open a New InPrivate window in Microsoft Edge, right click on the browser icon and choose New InPrivate window.





    Now follow this link  to https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/ChangePassword.aspx

    • Ensure that you are logged on with your cloud username with
      @na.windwardoncloud.com” for NA
      @AU.windwardoncloud.com” for AU
    • And your current password

  2. Ensure that you are logged on with your cloud username with
    @na.windwardoncloud.com” for NA
    @AU.windwardoncloud.com” for AU
  3. And your current password

  4. On the next page, you will be able to update your current password
  5. Once you enter the current and new passwords, click Submit.
    And you will be taken to the following screen.


    If you are changing the password for only that user, then you are done and can close your browser.

    If you are changing the password for multiple user accounts, You will need to click on Sign Out Everywhere,
    Then confirm by clicking the Yes button.

    This will sign you out of the user account you just changed the password for.

    Close your browser windows.

    To change the password for the next user, start a new Incognito or InPrivate browser session and repeat the steps above.

Resetting your password

One benefit to having MFA enabled is you can reset your own password without contacting support:

  1. Choose the region your credentials are from.
    1. For North American clients use https://na.windwardoncloud.com
    2. For Australian clients use https://au.windwardoncloud.com
  2. Click “Forgot your password?”
  3. Enter your username (without your na.windwardoncloud.com or au.windwardoncloud.com) and the CAPTCHA.
  4. Enter the code from your authenticator.
  5. Enter your new password and the CAPTCHA and click Reset Password.
This will also unlock your account if it has been locked out from too many attempts.
